There are now certain VRF and heat pump air conditioning systems that are eligible for the Enhanced Capital Allowance Scheme (ECA). This is a tax relief system which can be claimed against taxable profits of your business. If your business wants to invest in plant and machinery then this equipment is classed as a Capital Asset and, under ECA rules, this means that in line with the rules for certain other company assets, your business can claim 100% first year capital allowances on their investment providing it is claimed within the year of expenditure. In plain English, this means that as a business user, you can reduce your tax bill for the year in which you make the investment.
